'Renovated' this blog to include more than just Lush products.

It's Raining Men Shower Gel

Note: This is a Valentine's Limited Edition Product!

Heralded as the shower gel version of 'Honey I washed the Kids Soap', it boasts fragrences of Honey and Lotus flowers. I ordered a small bottle of this to test and must admit, I was curious to see if it was as good as the much loved soap. I must say I am a little disappointed. The fragrence was very sweet and the smell of honey was a bit overwhelming. It works beautifully well on your skin however, leaving it deviously soft and sweet. It also was very nice upon using it on my hair with leaving it clean and slightly scented.

I wouldn't say this is like the soap at all although the scent is similiar to it. I would probably not by this one again and stick to the soap instead, but I would recommend it to anyone who loves honey scented products and of course, sweet scents.

Love Birds Soap

Note: This is a Valentine's Limited Edition Product!

When ordering this soap, remember that you recieve a random piece from the cheese wheel style soap they have in the shops, so the little patterns ontop of the soap you recieve will vary greatly!
Described as a Vanilla and Jasmine soap, the smell is in fact, very mild in comparison to other Lush soaps. I was unable to detect any vanilla scent within the soap, which was a little disappointing as I was hoping it would smell a bit sweeter. Instead, it has a rather floral scent from the overpowering jasmine.

The soap itself is very creamy. It lathers up extremely well and leaves your skin very soft and moisturised. I enjoyed showering with it as it did have a very good effect on my body, particularly dry areas.

I wouldn't class this as my favourite soap due to the smell, but very worthwhile picking up during the Valentine's period for softer skin.

Magic Mushroom Bubble Bar

Note: This is a Valentine's Limited Edition Product!

This is a very cute product, obviously trying to look like little toadstools. This bubble bar is a blend of two aromas. The red part is a fruity strawberry and the white is a sweet vanilla aroma. I actually found the scent wasn't too strong on its own. As per usual, you crumble the bubble bar under running water to get lots of frothy bubbles. This one turned my bath into a pinkish colour combined with touch a warm orange. There were plenty of bubbles and I could imagine it being very romantic for Valentines if combined with floating candles and rose petals. (In actual fact it was Valentine's day when I used it but as I live in Norway, they don't care too much for the day.)

I actually found the smell a little disappointing. It was very subtle and I could not detect the strawberry scent too well.

But it did make the water very softening and moisturising so this one is definately something you would want to treat yourself or your partner to on Valentine's day.

Big Shampoo

Ahhhh, Big Shampoo. This is definately is one of my favourites. I found the smell very refreshing with a slight cirtus hint but some may find its not for them; my mother-in-law was a bit shocked at how it looked and smelt!
I was actually quite wary of buying this, as the tub is not that big and I doubted if it would be my money's worth as it is quite expensive for a shampoo. However, a very kind lady at lush took a tiny sample into my hand and showed me how it lathers up under water.
I was quite amazed at how much it lathered with only a small amount. I bought a tub and used it later that day and only had to use about a teaspoon's worth to cover my hair. The results were very volumised, bouncy and clean hair. This is one of those shampoos of where you can rub your hair whilst still wet and get the 'squeaky clean' sound. I didn't bother with conditioner, the lime juice gave my hair a lovely shine.

Now, despite my very pleasing results, there is a few things I have learnt about this shampoo. First off, regular use can do more bad then good. The sea salt seemed to dry my hair at the ends, leaving them a bit tangled and split and it tend to be quite harsh with regular use. I came to the conclusion that Big is probably best used for special occasions or once/twice a week on my hair, using conditioner if used more then once that week.

A very nice buy regardless as this will certainly give you the bouncy volume for whatever occasion you want it for.

Demon in the Dark Soap

I actually ordered this soap for my boyfriend. Being your typical man, he was not too bothered about how he washed or what he washed with. I asked him to pick out a soap and he liked the sound of this apple and peppermint one.

When we recieved the soap, we found that the smell was actually a very strong mint and there was not really any scent of apples about it. My boyfriend enjoyed it non the less, as it was a very much a multi-sex scent, not girly at all and he enjoys the mint smell.

It lathers up quite nicely and its quite long lasting. I haven't had any problems using it on my skin so it seems to be a great soap if you feel like something a bit different and not too feminine.

Sex in the Shower Emotibomb

As I shower more frequently then bathe, I was looking forward to using this. The combination of ginger, jasmine and rose was very nice. It smelt very sensual and slightly sexy when I recieved it, and was hoping it would dissolve slowly whilst I showered with my boyfriend. Unfortunately, this 'emotibomb' dissolved completely after about 1 minute and the smell was not very strong or long lasting. We found it disappointing and a lot higher hopes for this product.

I would write more about this product but I can't really say much else. It did work nicely as a room fragrance though.

Vanilla Fountain

This bath bomb has the most wonderful vanilla scent. I bought this but I actually have a shower room (the bathroom being my inlaws as my boyfriend and I rent their basement flat) so I only bath when I want to use a bath bomb or bubble bar. So after buying this, it went into my shower room and into the cupboard. Whenever I went and out of this room, the amazing vanilla smell would greet me and for this reason, I hear a lot of people use it as a room scent.
In the actual bath tub, it behaves like most other bath bombs and will fizz away releasing its vanilla scent even more. Some maybe find it sickly or overpowering, but as a vanilla lover, I find its just right. It's not cheap, nor does it smell like I just poured vanilla extract into my bath!

The after effect on my skin was positive. I was quite soft all over, my sensitive skin on my arms were a tiny bit irritated, but overall I felt very moisturized and the smell lingered slightly on me.

The main downside is the colour of the bath water for me - a very strong yellow, but overall, an excellent bath bomb!

Lovely Jubblies

Lovely Jubblies is meant for *ahem*, ladies breasts. It contains a skin loving range of ingrediants including rose infusion, meadowsweet infusion, ylang ylang, jasmine, tiger lily, beeswax, avocado, almond oil and cocoa butter. I decided to buy this one whilst visiting a town in Sweden. I am actually only twenty-two years old, but I felt my breasts could do with being firmer and lifted. To be honest, I wasn't expecting a cream to have much effect.

The scent is incrediably floral, and the cream itself is clear and very light. The pot is also quite small for the price.
I decided to use it after showering and found I only needed a very small amount to cover my breasts (which aren't exactly very small). The cream settled in although leaving a slightly oily feel. I went to bed and woke up the next morning with the oily feel gone and with a pair of very soft breasts.

I noticed my breasts being slightly firmer after a few uses but not very lifting.
None the less, my boyfriend noticed the results and is quite pleased.

Trichomania

Trichomania is the first Solid Shampoo that I tried from Lush. I was attracted to this soap because I had dry hair at the time and I LOVE coconut smells! To describe my hair, it is long, brown and naturally straight. This product was advised for those with curly hair but I gave it a go none the less.
On first recieving it in the post, it came wrapped in a plastic wrapper which i found odd as I was expected in a lush yellow bag. Upon unwrapping it, I found it had a faint smell of coconut mixed with something else which wasn't particularly strong. I was a little disappointed about this but the smell was still nice. Unlike the shampoo bars, it came as a rectangular little block.

I showered with it and rubbed the bar once or twice through my hair and it lathered up very well. I conditioned as usual and found my hair was no longer dry, it felt very smooth and easy to brush. The smell of the shampoo was quickly overpowered by my conditioner.
Despite all this tough, the second time (and every time afterwards), it proceeded to grease and oil my hair more. My mother-in-law however who I gave half the bar to loved it, as she suffers from thick, curly dry hair which she straightens a lot.

I came to the conclusion that this shampoo is excellent fix for those with regularly dry hair and more of a 'use it whenever your hair is feeling dry' for those who normally do not have dry hair.

I would recommend this for anyone for the reason mentioned above but if you're hoping for a sexy coconut smell, give this one a pass.

- This product has been discontinued from Lush although available until supplies run out. I found it to be available in the USA store and many European stores too.

Honey I Washed The Kids

Honey I Washed The Kids (or HIWTK as the fans sometimes abbrievate it to) is a very sweet, honey scented soap. It's slightly different to Lush's vanilla scented products, with this one reminding me of toffee sweets. It also contains Aloe Vera and Beeswax which are both very good for the skin. The soap is not in any way sticky, nor does the soap come with any lingering little bits; its very smooth to touch and using it in the bath or shower is an absolute delight to skin and the senses. I found it lathered very well, and left my skin very soft afterwards.
I also have sensitive skin around my arms and found this soap did not cause any problems with this.
This soap has quickly become one of my favourites.

The only complaint I had about this soap was the hard honey comb piece on top of it, although a nice touch to the honey soap and useful to hold to grip the soap, but it would scrap against my body as I wore the soap down. Easily solved by cutting it off the soap however.
